Career
I've worked as a software engineer and an engineering manager since 2017.

How I like to work
I enjoy problem solving. Most of the time, that is through software. However, I enjoy having space to flex across multiple domains which is why I've run towards problems with increasingly less structure and direction as my career has progressed.
The platforms have changed along the way too. I started in mobile at Rev, working full-stack. At Vinovest it was React Native and Next on the frontend, and at Outreach it was React. At Truemed I went back to full-stack with Django and Next, and now I'm learning LLMs and ML systems as I go.
I thrive on teams where each individual is welcome to work across domains. The best teams I've worked on are a combination of high trust and high accountability while being composed of individuals who take pride in their craft.
Truemed
April 2023 to now
I joined as the first engineer, before launch. Year one I helped take the product to market and worked across most of the core product, including the health survey, payments, and the provider and merchant experiences. I also built support tools, ran onboarding calls with our early partners, and helped hire some of the early team.
In the fall of 2024 I became a tech lead, working mostly on checkout and conversion, and then built our marketplace. I was one of the first engineers to drink the Kool-Aid on AI and LLMs, and I generated the marketplace end to end with AI tools.
In 2025 I moved into management. I helped launch a system that uses language models to work out which products qualify for HSA/FSA spending, helped build out Truemed's ML capabilities, and helped the eng team adopt AI tools as they kept improving. Now I run two teams - Labs, our 0 to 1 product team, and Clinical Ops, our telemedicine experience.
Outreach
December 2022 to April 2023
I worked on kaia, Outreach's conversation intelligence product, including custom keywords, deal overview, re-transcribe, and redaction.
Vinovest
April 2021 to November 2022
I joined Vinovest to give up the safety net of a bigger company. I was hired to build the mobile app from nothing, and it reached many thousands of users in its first few months.
Next came the exchange, where people buy and sell single bottles of wine. It started earning right away.
Somewhere in there I managed the core of the engineering team. I designed the 2022 structure of four cross-functional teams, hired two staff engineers and a mid-level engineer, and wrote the TypeScript standards, the web client migration plan, and the testing strategy the team ran on.
Rev
August 2017 to April 2021
I joined the mobile team as a software engineer. We built several audio recording apps in React Native, for iOS and Android.
Later I managed the team, and we built Rev's Zoom app as one of the launch partners on Zoom's app marketplace.
Lines I keep coming back to
From my own notes, 2020 to 2022.
- You don't have to have answers to every question. You have to be able to get answers to any question.
- Ask questions first. Suggest second. Always.
- Use the product. Go through each flow at least once. Then do it again. And one more time for good measure.
- Most "worst" case scenarios are recoverable.
